Spooky fun at St John’s Library
There will be magic and mayhem at St John’s Library at a special Halloween event this month.
The spooky event on Friday 31st October takes place between 1pm and 4.30pm, and there will be lots of fun activities for children of all ages to get involved with.
Animal Mania will be returning to the library with their wonderful selection of animals. Children will have the opportunity to handle some of the animals, and learn some amazing facts about them.
Andy’s Magic will also be joining us with two magic shows, commencing at 2pm and 3.15pm. The magic shows are great fun, and encompass audience participation in doing magic tricks and making balloon animals. There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of the incredible balloon animals.
There will also be lots of other Halloween related activities including pumpkin carving, a tombola, and a fancy dress competition with prizes. There will be magical spooky stories including ‘The Vegetarian Vampire’ with author Helen Cooper, and spooky related food and drink will be available to purchase.
The event is aimed at children aged up to 12 year old and is free of charge, although entrance to the magic shows is by ticket only. Magic show tickets are free and available from St John’s Library, but are subject to either joining the library service or borrowing two items from St John’s Library between the 15th and 30th October 2014. Places for the magic shows are limited and tickets will be allocated on a first come basis.
We’re really looking forward to celebrating Halloween with our visitors. Whether you’re a regular library user or this is the first time through our doors, why not come along for some scary fun?”
