Charity Calendar Success

A calendar of kindness and support.

I am thrilled to announce that my calendar in support of The REME Charity has raised £150 to date! The REME Charity exists to support REME (Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineering) operational casualties, including surviving service personnel with life changing injuries, bereaved families who have been left to continue when the worst happens, and as a point of contact for welfare support, regardless of the time frame required.

This is a charity close to my heart, as not only was my father a member of REME in his younger years, my eldest son is currently serving with the Corps. The REME itself exists to act as technical advisers on the design of new Army equipment and provides support directly sustaining forces and equipment at combat readiness, both at home and in the field.

The calendar has been designed to keep ourselves motivated and supported in these challenging times, and includes beautiful photography by local artists, with uplifting and thoughtful poems for each month by local poets and myself as Worcestershire Poet Laureate. The Worcestershire LitFest & Fringe and Time to Change have kindly supported its publication, collaborating with this venture to promote mental and emotional well-being.

There are still a few copies left, but these are very limited so if you didn’t receive a calendar for 2021 get your order in quickly (despite coronavirus restrictions, it’s still worth having one to count down the days until we can get together again, and in the meantime the words and pictures will help you through these dark and challenging times)!

Still priced at £7:50 (free p&p) email worcspoet2020-Leena@yahoo.com
